Ankita Lokhande To Make Her Bollywood Debut In ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

After staying away from the small screen for three years, the ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame Ankita Lokhande is ready to make her ‘huge’ return on silver screen after breaking up with Sushant Singh Rajput. She is going to make her big-screen debut as Jhalkaribai to Kangana Ranaut’s Queen of Jhansi.

Ankita has recently returned from her Bangkok tour. The actress seems to be disappeared after having break-up with Sushant Singh Rajput last year.  After a gap of three years, she is returning with an upcoming Indian biographical Krish-directed and  Zee Studios-produced the film, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,’ featuring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The Ekta Kapoor’s tele-soap ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame now will portray the role of Jhalkaribai in her debut.

Kamal Jain, the producer of the film, knows Ankita since a long time. So, he contacts her for the role of a woman soldier in Rani Laxmibai’s army who was the high-flying advisor and veiled as the queen of Jhansi to deceive the enemy. Since the last one and half month, Ankita is training with the Hollywood action director Nick Powell in sword-fighting. She says:

“I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honored that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai.”

Ankita says:

“I’m indebted to Kamal sir for this challenging role in a big-budget film scripted by ‘Baahubali’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National Award-winning actress like Kangana who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I’m looking forward to learning from her once we start shooting in August.”

. She also revealed that she was also getting offers during her break. Ankita shared the expression that she greatly missed the lights, camera, and action and said:

“Acting is my passion, but when God was giving me work, I wanted something else. Now, I’m acting, fighting and dancing only for myself.”
