Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chilies Entertainment marked the iconic actor’s debut entry into the digital world of cinema. The film is about an honourable and honest police officer, played by Deol, who’s a mentor to a group of lads lost in the present complicated world of honour, ethics and devotion towards the nation.

The film also stars Anup Sonii, Bhupendra Jadawat, NinadMahajani, Hitesh Bhojraj and Sameer Paranjape. It is directed by Atul Sabharwal and is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book with the same name. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee rated the movie a 2.5 out of five but added by praising Bobby Deol’s performance saying, “The set-up is drearily familiar, but Bobby Deolsprings a surprise with his unfussy impersonation of a stolid, righteous policeman who runs afoul of his corrupt political boss.”

For his second brilliance, “Ashram” streaming on MX player, it takes us to the fictional city of Kashipur where an empire is created by the self-proclaimed godman Baba Nirala, played by Deol. It later turns out to be one of the best and good portrayals of a godman turned con man in the binge-worthy journey of the web series. Saibal Chatterjee added in his critic of the series as binge-worthy and gave a three out five stars and wrote: “There is no denying that Prakash Jha’s digital debut is ambitious, provocative and action-packed. It has an incessant, eyeball-grabbing crackle to it.”

For an actor who made the statement, “I guess I was too old-fashioned, couldn’t keep up with the quickly changing times. I didn’t even realize when my career started slipping away. You usually don’t.” This is an impactful comeback showcased by Bobby Deol for all his fans and critics entering the digital cinema world with a bang!
