The director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba said recently that he is thinking of addressing the COVID-19 situation in the third part of his hit franchise Fukrey. The franchise is produced by Farhan Akhtar and RiteshSIdhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Lamba promised that the third part would also deliver on entertainment and raise a social message like its predecessors.
The director said his team is considering adding the current situation of pandemic and lockdown in the movie. He also said that Fukrey 3 would also have a strong message delivered in a humorous way. Lambasaid that the original story doesn’t include COVID-19, but they’re discussing how to add it into the film without making it look forceful. He further said that if they’re not able to address Corona in this movie, he plans on making an entirely separate film on it.
Mrigdeep said that currently, all his energies are focused on Fukrey 3. They had started working on it before the lockdown. Nowadays, they’re connecting through phone. He claims that around 80 percent of writing is done and the story is in place. He added that they’re currently working on the screenplay and it’s almost finished. They will take the next steps after things are normalized. Once the rules are in place, they will decide how and when to move forward. The production was supposed to begin by October-November, but nothing is certain for now.
There will be some new additions of actors in the film who would join the returning primary cast, comprising of Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadda.
When asked about Rajkummar Rao and Jahnvi Kapoor starrer RoohiAfzana, which is produced by Lamba along with Dinesh Vijan, he replied that the movie is not completed yet, and will be released digitally. Earlier, it was supposed to release on July 5.
