indi version of Bahubali 2 recently crossed the 480 crore mark at the Indian Box Office. Despite these heroics, Anil Sharma feels that Bahubali 2 has not broken any record yet. He was asked about his thoughts regarding Bahubali 2 during the ceremony of his son Utkarsh’s debut film ‘Genius.’ He said:
“IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN, IN 2001, ‘GADAR : EK PREM KATHA’ WAS RELEASED AND HAD DONE A BUSINESS OF 265 CRORE, WHICH AS PER TODAY’S CALCULATION IS RS 5,000 CRORE.”
Reporters were shocked to hear these words from him. He urged reporters to stop asking about Bahubali 2 to him again and again. Following those statements, he said:
“AS MENTIONED, ‘GADAR’ HAD DONE A BUSINESS OF RS 265 CRORE IN 2001 WHEN THE TICKET RATES WERE RS 25 ONLY. AS PER VALUATION, IT IS RS 5,000 CRORE TODAY AND ‘BAAHUBALI 2’ HAS JUST REACHED SOME RS 1,500 CRORE, SO NO RECORD HAS BEEN BROKEN.”
Leaving the Bahubali 2 chapter aside. He praised his son and shared his thoughts concerning what he expects from him. He said:
“UTKARSH’S DEBUT FILM IS ‘GADAR’ (AS A CHILD ARTISTE) AND HE WAS VERY CONFIDENT IN HIS FIRST FILM ITSELF. PEOPLE HAVE SEEN HIS PERFORMANCE IN GADAR. SO THEY HAVE LOTS OF EXPECTATIONS FROM HIM AND EVEN UTKARSH HAS A BIG RESPONSIBILITY ON HIM. LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS.”
According to him Bahubali 2 has failed to break any record. But for us, it has been a storm which will revolutionize the Indian Cinema. However, we wish best of luck to Anil Sharma’s son for his debut movie!
