Opening Prediction Note For Upcoming Films – Box Office: March has been a dull month except for Badrinath Ki Dulhania, as Commando 2, Machine, Aa Gaya Hero etc have been flops and disasters.
Next week Phillauri is releasing and it features the top female star Anushka Sharma and top star of Punjab Diljit Dosanjh, but unfortunately the film doesn’t cater to their target audiences. The film will get an opening of 4 Crores and collect around 25 Crores in lifetime, which is sufficient as the film hardly has any budget. Anushka Sharma produced NH 10, 2 Years back which earned 35 Crores, but the good thing here is that Phillauri is not as dark as NH 10 and presence of Diljit Dosanjh will help in boosting collections in Punjab circuits.
On 31 March Naam Shabana is releasing and it is backstory of Tapsee Pannu’s character in Baby. Since Baby didn’t had a good shelf life on television and neither she has a following like Anushka, Deepika. There is Akshay Kumar but its just a special appearance and the makers haven’t promoted it as Akshay Starrer. Naam Shabana will have an opening of 4 Crores too, if the film is as good as Baby it may earn around 50 Crores in lifetime.
On 7 April Sarkar 3 is releasing which is again a franchise film which doesn’t have good shelf life, but the trailer had received some response so the film can get an opening of 6 Crores and if its a well made film, it can cross 50 Crores mark.
On 14 April Fate and the Furious is coming which can easily get a double digit opening, and will get some competition from previous releases. It will get an opening of 11 Crores and lifetime can be in the range of 90 Crores as 2 weeks later Baahubali 2 is arriving.
On 21 April Noor is coming which hardly has any buzz, Sonakshi Sinha has fan following in smaller centers but this is for urban audiences. Opening will be in the range of 1 Crores and lifetime will be 20 Crores max if gets good response.
On 28 April Baahubali is releasing which will get an opening of 25 Crores and it has 2 weeks free run so it can reach 200 Crore mark.
