“Shakuntala Devi”, this year’s upcoming movie of Vidya Balan, directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks and Vikram Malhotra, is the most awaited film to release after Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Dil Bechara’.
Vidya Balan’s is co-starring with Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. Shakuntala Devi was one of the first films that didn’t release its teaser unlike traditional theatrical but directly to the OTT platform. The film is going to release on July 31.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film’s release was postponed; otherwise, it would have released on May 8.
‘Shakuntala Devi’ is Vidya Balan’s upcoming biopic on math wizard and she tweeted a small teaser with this information on Twitter.
The poster of the film is also included in the teaser. Vidya Balan declared – “There are no rules in maths, only magic” in the teaser before delivering the message to the audience that the film is going to release. In the teaser, she introduces herself as ‘myself Shakuntala’ and after this she also asks to be ready to meet with “my best friend maths”. In the background, cheers of children’s voices are heard.
Few days earlier during this month, Amazon Prime Video, the leading online streaming video service, had already announced that ‘Shakuntala Devi’ film would be releasing globally on July 31.
The global premier announcement of the film ‘Shakuntala Devi’ was made by a video in which Vidya Balan was quizzing viewers with some challenging maths problems and also asked to solve them.
Vidya asked the question in the video and at the end she gave the answer of the challenging question as ‘31072020’. While saying this, she announced that the global premier of her movie ‘Shakuntala Devi’ would be released on Amazon Prime Video on 31st of July.
Vidya Balan plays the role of Shakuntala Devi, a renowned Indian mathematics genius, popularly known as ‘Human Computer’.
The whole screenplay of the movie is written by Nayanika Mahtani and Anu Menon. Ishita Moitra wrote the dialogues for the film.
The endearing story of Shakuntala Devi will be seen worldwide by the prime members in over 200 countries. As told earlier, the film was supposed to release on May 8th but was postponed due to the Covid-19 lockdown and it is now releasing on Amazon Prime Video.
