Sushant Singh Rajput (21 January, 1986 – 14 June, 2020) was an extraordinary and talented Indian actor, dancer, entrepreneur, and a philanthropist.
Sushant was born in Patna to Krishna Kumar Singh and Usha Singh. He has his ancestral home in Bihar’s Purnia district. He has three sisters and one of them is a state-level cricketer, named Mitu Singh.
Sushant Singh Rajput did his schooling from St. Karen’s High School, Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Delhi. He started pursuing his engineering from Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, but dropped out in third year.
His hobbies were to dance and play video games. While he was a student at Delhi Technology University, Sushant enrolled in Shiamak Davar’s dance classes. It was only later that the idea of making a career in acting came to him as some of his fellow students in the dance classes happened to be interested in acting and were attending Barry John’s drama classes.Then he decided to drop out of engineering and devoted himself to do what he was good at i.e. dancing and acting.
He began his career by acting in a television serial, which had become a very popular show at that time. The audiences loved his acting in it and most of them waitedeagerly to watch the latest episode.
His debut show was on Star Plus in a romantic drama “Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil” followed by an award-winning show named as “Pavitra Rishta” in Zee TV channel.

Sushant’s debut film was Kai Po Che as ‘Ishaan Bhatt’ for which he received an award in the category of Best Male Debut in Filmfare and Guild Awards. After that, he worked in so many mind-blowing movies such as MSDhoni: The Untold Story, PK and Shuddh Desi Romance.
He played the titular detective in the action thriller film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. He also went on to star in commercially successful films Kedarnath and Chhichhore. He also starred in Drive, which was a Netflix Original movie in which he worked with Jacqueline Fernandez.
Sushant Singh Rajput has won many awards for his realistic acting skills. He received Screen Award and Indian Film Festival of Melbourne for Best Actor for the film “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story”. He has also acted brilliantly in Chhichhore.
Sushant was in a relationship for four years with Ankita Lokhande. After that, there was a rumour that he was in a relationship with Kriti Sanon but this was not true. Later, he was in a relationship with Rhea Chakraborty (actress).
Sushant committed suicide by hanging at his Bandra residence on 14 June, 2020. He was known to be suffering from depression.
